The Ontario Digital Literacy and Access Network (ODLAN) is proud to announce the launch of its groundbreaking initiative, “Digitally Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Organizations,” made possible through the generous funding from the Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) grant.
This innovative program is designed to expand ODLAN’s foundational tools and networks in order to strengthen our capacity for building relationships focused on enhancing the digital capabilities of organizations serving 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. By providing tailored training, resources, and support, ODLAN aims to bridge the digital divide and empower these organizations to leverage technology for greater outreach, advocacy, and community building.
“We are thrilled to have the support of the WAGE grant for this vital initiative,” said Dr. Stephanie Jonsson, Executive Director at ODLAN. “With this funding, we can improve our capacity to offer comprehensive digital literacy programs that will equip organizations serving 2SLGBTQIA+ communities with the skills, tools, and networks they need to thrive in the digital age. Our goal is to support Canadian 2SLGBTQIA+ communities with growing and thriving in the digital age.”
A core element of the “Digitally Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Organizations” initiative focuses on increasing community insights on key areas such as digital marketing, cybersecurity, online collaboration tools, and data management. By collaborating closely with our key partners and advisory committee, we can deepen our understanding of the tools, resources, and opportunities that currently support our communities—as well as identify the critical gaps. This insight will empower us to expand our own capacity as effective capacity-builders .In turn, we will see tangible impacts for our network of community partners focused on safety, systems, and support for their 2SLGBTQIA+ team members and clientele.
