Ontario Digital Literacy and Access Network (ODLAN) expands its”Digitally Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Organizations” Initiative with WAGE Grant extension
Toronto, Ontario – July 15, 2026 – The Open Digital Literacy and Access Network (ODLAN) is proud to announce the extension of our initiative, “Digitally Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Organizations” made possible through the recent funding extension from the Women and Gender Equality (WAGE) grant.
Over the past three years, the team at ODLAN has expanded ODLAN’s foundational tools and networks focused on enhancing the digital capabilities of organizations serving 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. ODLAN works with community leaders and organizations to provide tailored training, resources, and support. At the same time, we have been actively expanding the number of free digital tools and webinars focused on bridging the digital divide and building confidence amongst people working in the 2SLGBTQIA+ sector. This will allow the sector to better leverage technology for greater outreach, advocacy, and community building.
Digital inclusion takes many forms and requires increasingly complex solutions. In the year ahead, the 2SLGBTQIA+ sector will continue to see ODLAN expanding our impact to meet this demand. With the expansion of this project, ODLAN will further expand on the insights and direction provided by our advisory committee and partner roundtables. We will be working towards updating free educational materials, training opportunities, and a new digital resource portal to create cross-sector engagement that improves the collective digital accessibility and confidence across a wide range of non-profits, grassroots groups, and community spaces.
“Being able to expand the ‘Digitally Empowering 2SLGBTQIA+ Organizations’ project allows us to ensure the consistency we need in showing up for our various 2SLGBTQIA+ communities” shared Kerry Duncan, ODLAN Project Coordinator. “Especially with the ever changing digital landscape, we need to continue expanding our formats, tools, and best practices that empower our community partners to respond to and engage with the wide range of skillsets, opportunities, and concerns they encounter when working online.”
