Stronger & Louder: The Fight Against Transphobic Online Hate

Date: April 4, 2023

Time: 12 PM (EDT)

Format: Live on Zoom

Host: Celeste Trianon (Invited Host)

Guest: Fae Johnston from W2A

Are you a community member or organization who has faced online hate? Wondering what you can do? Trans communities and activists are under attack. Transphobic online hate campaigns are threatening the rights of trans and gender diverse people, who are experiencing these online harms on a daily basis. It is crucial that spaces are made to have discussions about how 2SLGBTQIA+ communities can mitigate and prevent online hate, which can also turn into offline attacks. The third installment of our Queerphobic Online Hate webinar series features Fae Johnstone, who made international headlines and was subjected to transphobic online hate after being featured in Hershey’s HerforShe campaign for International Women’s Day. Join us as Fae talks about her experiences and walks us through how we can stand up together amplifying trans rights and speaking up against anti-2SLGBTQIA+ online hate.
